just wondering if anyone can tell me how to wire up the check engine diagnostics light?
the check engine wire coming from my ecu has been cut, so i was thinking of just attaching a little globe to it rather than connecting it to my dash (which i cant be effed pulling apart)
can anyone tell me how i would go about wiring up a little LED light to the check engine light wire coming from my ECU?

ive read that to find out what's wrong with the ECU you just count the times that the light flashes? and then look it up in the diagnostics manual?

any helps appreciated, thanks!

The diagnostics pin on your ECU pulls to ground to turn the light on.

Therefore to make it work you need to take fused 12V, connect it to an LED (right way round of course, and you need a suitable sized resistor in series with it too) then to your diagnostics pin (or whatever wire is hanging off that pin).

You can find the procedure for reading out codes and what each one means round here or elsewhere on the net.
