I have 5 X AE86 , IN VARIOUS CONDITION ----- I know , how lucky I am , how unworthy of me etc etc ----

1. AE86 4AGE 16V N/A TRACK CAR ( RED )
2. AE86 4AGE 16v N/A ( STREET CAR FOR SON ) ( RED )
3. AE86 ROLLING SHELL --- IN CASE I F-CK UP !!!!!! (PRIMER )
4. AE86 ADM 16v ( STREET CAR) 4AGE 16V , twin 40mm webers (RED ) under construction
5. AE86 ADM 4AC RUST BUCKET KHANACROSS CAR (MATT BLACK )

Now the car in this story is AE86 ADM 4AC RUST BUCKET KHANACROSS CAR (MATT BLACK ).
I purchased it about 12 months ago as a parts car --- new it was a rust bucket , ex drift car from QLD . Did not pay much for it ( BUT STILL TO MUCH ). As all cars bought unseen ( always a mistake ) it had a few suprises , they always do . Bit more rust than I expected , ke70 stuts one side ,ae71 on the other , 4ac engine with compressions from 135 to 155 , clutch slipping etc etc --- I think you get the idea and if not photos may help.

Well 2 weeks ago I had an idea !!!!???? I said to my son , there is a Khanacross on Dec 3 lets enter.
Now of the 5 Sprinters , they are as follows ----

1 is set up for track work , 2. has only been on the road for 2 weeks after a full rebiuld – to nice , 3 is spare rolling shell , 4. under re-construction . So it will have to be number 5 .
So the following needs to be done in 12 days ---- convert and fit FWD AE82 4AC engine , new seals for gearbox, weld up a S series diff and install , new rear brakes and wheel bearings ( 2nd hand of coarse , but not stuffed ). Fit a matching front suspension , do something with the worst of the rust ( doesn't have to look pretty just put some strenght back into the shell , fit harness belts and mounts. Find a fit some cheap shocks , cut down and fit AE82 std springs . Fit plastic side wndows as not enough metal left to hold the glass wndows in. Find and fit non leaking radiator . Make up and fit front and rear bumper mounts ( std one are missing ) Make a set of rear flares to cover rusted out rear wheel arches. And the list went on & on & on --------------
So on day 12 , with no testing , we put it on the trailer to go to the event ---- and how did it turn out , well stayed tune to fine out ----- did the drift pig fall apart or did she live to fight another day ?????//

Thanks for the kind words JoJo . Khi and I had a fantastic day. All the effort payed off , I have no idea what our scores where , but I dont think we disgraced ourselves on the day, nor did the car . A few little problems to adress , she pops out of gear now and then, rear hybreed suspension a bit to high and brake booster not working at all , but over all she went hard all day. The locked diff was a joy --- just a wee bit of extra throttle and you were stone motherless sideway , not the best for a fast time . But oh !!!! what fun to drive.

Action a plenty !!!!!!!

No handbrake required --- result acheived via heavy right foot and 4AC power
