We bought this car about 2 months ago with plans to fix it up and run it as a daily, but circumstances have changed and we can't afford to do that anymore. We pulled the windscreen cowl off to start pulling out the windshield and found more rust, which will be in the photos.
I replaced the alternator with a Bosch IC Alternator from a Corona and it works fine.
The engine blows a bit of smoke, but starts just fine every time.
The car is currently driveable.
The interior is in very good condition. Blue trim, very few tears or cracks. Boot and boot lid have surprisingly little rust - a small amount of rust staining in the spare wheel well but the boot lid itself is rust free.
Rego expired on the 10th of Feb 2012.
Recently went for a rego inspection and it will need:
- Rust Removal on roof, near the driver's 1/4 window, and around windscreen
- New windshield
- Front Shock absorbers
Could probably get it to pass with just replacement shocks and some cheap and nasty rust repair on the roof and under the quarter window, depending on your mechanic.
Would make a good parts car or project.
