I'm looking to replace my old worn out springs and shocks for two reasons. the main one is to make my ride height legal the other is for better handling.

I need some springs and shocks that are suited for rally but can also be used for driving around narrow corners in the hills.

I know next to nothing about suspension so any advice is appreciated. The brands I prefer are TRD and Kyb but willing to consider others.

how much are you looking to spend, for the rear i'd recommend bilstein, can get a pair for the rear for around $500, fronts are slightly more expensive. when it comes to springs i see a lot of 8-6 combos aswell as 6-4

What are you looking to do with the car? Drift? Hills? Just cursing around? This will decide what kind of rate will be best for you.

I was thinking a springrate somewhere in between rally and hills. have a setup that is a compromise between the two. able to do both but not specialise in either one.

where can I buy new aftermarket shocks that suit the AE86? I know of only one place I can get a new set of Tokico HTS Dampers. And I saw a set of Kyb Super Rally Special shocks but they were second hand.

they any good?

Also want to know if I'll have much trouble going through Regency with aftermarket suspension. I know they don't allow coilover because you can adjust the ride height. Anything else they would have a problem with?

they're twin tube, i wouldn't really want to buy them second hand, have a look also at the bc coilover setup 1300 delivered for a set of 4, i don't know muhc about them but i've heard good reports, bein a sturdy 53mm monotube also including everything for 1300 delivered, i'd have a serious look into them
