4age not running

ok
iv got my carbie 4age and iv got the cams on the marks on the back plate and on tdc and iv got the dizzy setup on 1 for firing but the car wont fire up and when it does it back fires though the carbie and just runs like shit it wont idle nothing

any one got any idea on what it is

What have you done to it / was it running before?

First thing is to get the timing belt right, which you probably already have.
Crank notch on "O" mark, and cam pulleys lined up with the marks on the metal plate.
If you have aftermarket stuff, make sure the cams or gears are not up-side-down. Valves on No. 4 should both be slightly open, or "rocking".

Then move the crank notch slightly to around 15 degrees.

Then put the dizzy in, so rotor is pointing to No. 1 lead. But then fine tune the dizzy so the points are just about to open, or the pickups are lined up exactly.

Then, double check your carbies are air tight sealed onto the intake manifold, and the manifold to the head, and injector holes are air tight. Do not use silicon on any of this! Must use fuel resistant sealant.
