I was thinking about this on my way home after talking to you, blue or white smoke? Maybe rings or HG, seems odd.

hmmmmmm, when i cooked my 4a(it stopped) i had white smoke pissing out of catch can, but next day(when returned to it on the side of the road) oil level was fine, white is normally coolant or brake fluid(wouldn't be this one)

Get a hold of a comp tester and test each cylinder. Maybe drop your oil and check for any sign of water in there.

It's probably your valve stem seals. I think I've got a dud one in my car as there is a little smoke taking off from lights etc. It happens so little I haven't got around to fixing it but its on the to-do list.
