AE86

JDM slotted rotors with JDM calipers, QFM A1RM pads
JDM T rear end, JDM slotted rotors, QFM A1RM pads

SO the brakes work but just wanting to know if there is anything i can do to stop the brake pedal feeling all spongy.

When everything was brand new and just installed, it felt great but as time went by and driving this thing everyday, it has worn down the "new" feel of everything and is now feeling more like a soft-cock :hehe:

i like my pedal feel to be solid, so what can i do if anything with this?

i have bleed the brakes already and it was good but shortly back to soft.

I had a similar problem a year ago . Turned out to be the brake booster ( leaking seal ) Had it rebuilt and good pedal again . Same can apply for a internal leak in the master cylinder .

I would put a new master cylinder in. I would think if it was the brake booster it would be the opposite, would be a harder pedal?

Good setup, I run the exact same in my car, awesome! Wouldn't you bleed your brakes first? Maybe check none of the calipers are leaking etc. Sorry if you have already done this.

How spongy is it? Like it needs to be bled again? Or just like the brakes are a bit hot?

As said, the master cylinder can leak internally.

i was hoping i wouldn't need a new/newer/rebuild booster or master.

Thanks for the replies i guess i'll just slowly shop around for a better upgrade to be had

I've got a similar problem, exact same setup, bar maybe braided brake lines. I can't get rid of my spongy pedal. Car stops well, just shitty pedal feel.

I've rebuilt my calipers, new rotors, pads bled them plenty of times. I always assumed it was my masters fault because it visibly leaky at the rear seal.

Recently while the engine was out i got it resleeved and sealed, and pulled the booster apart to check the seals, bled them quickly yesterday, it is a lot better and I know there's still air in there as it was a just a dodgy job to get it rolling again. Hopefully after a vacuum bleed It will be all good.

For the price of a new master cylinder why would you not just replace it.

ADM and JDM masters have different mounts, I would have to find a ADM booster to buy a local master.

And good luck finding a new JDM master for sale. Maybe through Toyota but the wait would have been ridiculous.

Are you sure about this???? im pretty sure adm and jdm boosters are the same, therefore the masters are the same.......

Booster and master are internally the same only difference is the studs for the master are in different spots. So you need the same booster and master whichever your using, no cross breeding so to speak.

Dan is right, the JDM masters have the same drivers side stud position as the ADM type, but the passenger side drops down on an angle
