Motor, 4AGE 16V bigport

Car, Toyota KE70

Bit of mixed info in my searches so just checking are 4AGZE pistons and rods a straight bolt in job into a 4AGE 16V as in the same bore and same size diameter crank? Also thinking about running a SR20 redtop turbo as i can get one dirt cheap at the moment only wanting around 200hp any opinions on how they go on a 4AGE would be great too. thanks

There's two different big end journal sizes for 4age's, bigports are 40mm and all the later engines use 42mm big ends. I'm not sure if the bigport gze's used the smaller journal rods or not, but easy enough to check really.

I would never reccomend anyone buy second hand rods anyway, who knows what kind of life they've had or why the engine came apart in the first place. Plenty of reasonably priced new rods out there, little bit more money up front but for peace of mind you know you won't have any issues.

Yeah lol i know not to trust stuff like that but they are pretty much new still and dirt cheap. So can anyone confirm for sure the size of the bigport journal rods compared to AW11 4AGZE? Cheeers

I have some late model rods out of a smallport (I'm selling) which are the same as GZE. I want to get rid of them in favor of something lighter but they are good for turbo use etc, but they are definitely 42mm.

AW11 4agze has the 7 rib block which is the later version (4agze was only an option post 87), so if what jimmee said was true, then it would probably be the 42mm big end. As far as i know the block is identical between the 7 rib bigport and the 4agze

yall are doing it way wrong.

GZE are 42mm rod journal. Later model Bigports ("red and black" top) had a 7 rib block. 101 GZE has a different block to AW11 GZE but pretty sure AW11 GZE is same is AE92 GZE.

DO you have a 7 rib bigport Alex? If so, it'll work. If not rebuild the motor and just boost it. or don't even bother. 200hp is nothing for a stock block 4a. It'll last as long as it's in fairly good condition and the tune is good. Garage dori had some pretty hagard setups and they used to last a long time. All the good info is gone from that site though.
