Hey guys. Looking to buy a ke70 with a bp 16v 4age in it. I'm a bit of a noob so if anyone could give me some pointers on what to look for/at to tell if it's been done properly and not dodgy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

the only really dodgy thing that someone could do with this conversion either the cooling system, wiring or fuel system.

have a look under the inlet manifold behind the water pump to look for the water setup they have used. most people chop and change different parts to make something work as its cheaper than using the genuine rwd parts. ask the seller what thermostat they used and if the heater is still there see if it is still plumbed into the cooling system.

for the fuel a simple efi pump is all that is required so again just ask the owner what was used. there is no need to upgrade the hard fuel lines or anything.

and the wiring is hard to tell by looking at it. just be prepared for some wiring gremlins as they always seem to come from engine conversions.
