Up for sale is my 1985 Toyota Cressida GLXi Automatic.
The car had only travelled 149XXX km's and has been my daily for the past 6 months.
The 5MGE engine is super smooth and the gearbox shifts perfectly.
However, recently the car has obtained a problem with the front section of the driveshaft - this needs reconditioning and have been quoted $900 to get it fixed.
I do not have the time or money to get it repaired as this vehicle is currently surplus to my needs.
The Cressida is therefore currently undrivable but can be moved on its own power and very low speeds.
Service done at Phol Gilbert Toyota on July including Wheel alignment, power steering flush, fuel injection service, new bonnet struts.
Recently also changed steering rack bushings just before christmas.
Also fitted a cd tuner from a late model Toyota.
The car has a few blemishes including a ding to the front as pictured, plus a scratch on the RHS rear. There also a few scratches on the body and few small spots of surface rust.
Interior wise it just needs a good steam clean. Door panels have tears from previous owner.
Front passenger side mirror does not work, but sale will include 4 extra regulators.
All other power windows work perfectly.
Airconditioning does not work as its missing a belt.
Have been told by the previous owner it needs a belt and a regas.
Car is super comfy and soaks up all the bumps and the seats are comfy to boot!
Heaps of rego left until July 2013
A very good and reliable daily driver, with the above mentioned problem - the asking price reflects this. Great project car for anyone into drifting as 1JZ and 1UZ conversions are common - even an SR20DET.
Would be sad to see the car go to the wreckers so looking for someone to give it a new lease of life.
