Hi has any one tryed to fit a hilux centre in to a t series housing.
Yes i no one is 6.7 and the other 8inch,but why couldnt it be machined a tad.
Or may be fit hilux crown wheel and pinion to a t carrier?
Ive been told it has been done ,but cant remember which way they went about it.
Any one else hear of this??
Just looking for a lower ratio maybe 4.77 or 5.1 hilux gear seems to be easy to get than t series gears.
cheers rob

If it possible: No... Well anything's possible, but you're going to do some serious "adjustment" of the sheetmetal around the centre of the diff housing.
Is it worth it just to get a ratio: No. You can get new T ratios for not crazy money.
If you really want to be different then an E series centre will fit T housing with minor work. Then you can have a high ratio, but have no LSD options.

A T Series 4.77 Centre is a few hundred dollars - I dare say you'd spend a lot more than that modifying a T Series housing professionally.

Not quite a few hundred but cheaper than doing all the work you proposed.

I always forget that people associate a few hundred with $200 :|
^^ Weir is what i was talking about -
4.30, 4.778 Ratios $318.60
**NEW** 5.13 ratio $389.00
