lol yeah 4000rpm
or generally anytime I put
my foot flat.
yeah its bogging down
any ideas what it could be?
I think it may be under fueling
but I just don't know?
sometimes its runs sweet
other times its like that.
went for a slide sesh tonight
some corners slid nice others
my gf an me almost got thrown
through the window cause the
was no throttle.
its a standard carby with aftermarket
filter that's it.
help help help haha

If it's a standard setup un-modified, the problem is more likely to be ignition. Because the carby lasts for ages, but the spark plugs and points and dizzy cap etc. wear out over time.
But go ahead and get a new fuel filter to begin with.

well that sounds about right aswell
because when I first got my p's for
the first week or so my car would
randomaly die an not start but
if I took the dizzy cap off then put
it back on again it would start straight
up...
the points an button are pretty fucked
so I'll have to order in one, an I'll also
get new leads :D
also if any knows what im talking about
tell me what you think.
umm on the 5k (its the same on the 4k)
where the plugs sit in those little
silver cup things well I seem to be
getting a fair bit of oil up in there
its the second lot of plugs I've replaced
in 2 weeks.
I do believe Its a oil leak....
how to stop it tho?

The points are the MAIN thing you need for the engine to have a chance at running right. Replace them every 3 months, and don't even bother diagnosing something else untill you have new points, with approx correct gap, and ignition timing at about 10 or 12 degrees at idle. Good idea to get new condensor also.
The plug leads typically last a very long time, sometimes for the entire life of the car. I looked at a Honda yestday, plug leads looked brand new, said 1977 on them. (Car had been garaged I guess). So test the leads before you waste money. The stock ones often last longest. Make sure no water is in the plug tubes.
