Have searched for a while now and haven't been able to find a straight answer. So here goes:

I have an ra60 diff, drum to drum, and a t50 box going into my ke70 and have not been able to get 100% info on what sort of tailshaft i will need. I have been told that an ae71 manual tailshaft will be perfect but as they dont come up too often and can be pricey, so i wanted to make sure that it will definitely fit before i run of and buy one, only to find out that it wont work.

Appreciate any input, thanks.

Ae71 tailshaft won't fit, they are to suit T50 to Borg Warner Diff

a JDM Ae86 Tailshaft will work with your Ra60 diff which is a T series diff, alternatively AE71 or AE86 Front half and T18 Rear half

not to mention that the control arms will need to be relocated

There is not muxh different in the mounts between the ra60 to the borg.

I have heard plenty about the mounts being different. I have a ra40 t series (and I believe its the same as ra60) in my ke70 with a T50. The diff mounts fine so if they are different it's only very minor. I also use a jdm 86 tail shaft and it works fine.

Also to note, the spring seats one the ra40/60 t series are way to small to use ae86/ke70 springs. My shocks hold the springs captive but I recomend to change them

Thanks for the responses guys. Really appreciate it.

adds; what springs would you recommend to suit the ra60 diff?

Alternatively if i keep my ke70 diff in and use an ae71 tailshaft would that work seeing as it would be t50 to Borg Warner (i assume) or is there a length issue orrr?

The ae71 tail shaft will work with the borgy no worrries.

Not to sure on what springs to can use. Maybe your best bet is to cut off the mounts form the borgy and weld them onto the t series.

speak to Dave at AJPS, I was gonna get some custom springs made when I ran into this problem ( ke70 top that taper down to a ra40 bottom )

In the end I just got standard 86 springs and run a low shock to hold the springs captive. It still looks dodge tho.
Just gonna run it as is untill my f series is ready to go in, and I can still use the same springs.

yea was just having a read of that now that i have a bit more info and it raised a question. When it says that Ke70's have a borg warner diff different to S and T series, is this to say that diff end wont mate up to an ae71 tailshaft diff end or that the inner workings are different?

sorry for the random questions but i thought seeing as i have people replying i may as well ask away (:

By diff end do u mean the tailshaft flange end? If so pretty sure they are that same. Borgwarner is different by the internals.

S series and Borg warner have different flange pattern, ones oval and one is square/round
T series has a longer diff nose.

and seeing as an ae71 tailshaft is manufactured for a borg warner it will work on the ke70 borg warner. i think i got my head around it now, finally.
