Did a quick search and couldnt find a thread with any details on it.

Im guessing there may be people who have tried (and succeeded ?) to buy items through Yahoo Japan at one stage and ship back to aus?

I having trouble working out how to place an order and pay for it etc. (paying for the item and working out the shipping seems to be the biggest problem for me)

Anyone done this successfully?

-rei.

Import monster is the only way I'm aware of unless you can read Japanese

People buy all the time. You have to use a 3rd party importer to by on your behalf.

I use/ have used robert @ ep importers, ewan @ hayatonka and jesse streeter.

They will work out postage after you by the item and can weigh it.

On top of the price. You'll have to pay shipping to them in japan. Shipping to you and a small % of the price you paid for the item

So it does add up quickly.

To search ae86 parts what I do is
Download google chrome
Use the translater function
Go to www.yahoo.jp
Yahoo "ae86"
The first link to come up will be ae86 items on the auction page.
Click the link and start searching
On the left hand side click "used parts" It'll filter all pages of pages of one single item. Usually coilovers body kits and roll cages lol

Im not sure how to search specific items as they never come up when type in the search. Its very hit and miss.

^^^ A++ to McLEVIN on the google chrome and translate. I manged to place an order etc and read a confirmation email. but no avail with payment etc. wasnt quite clear how to pay as normally ebay takes paypal. lol.

i have sent a couple of query emails to jesse streeter probably a year ago.

is he still in the business as delivery proxy? seemed like a decent fella on the internet but hard to say if i would get my package in the end.

Im not buying anything performance related. just some cupholders. haha

but never know what i might need to get in future. they got some pretty mint / cool stuff on there.

I use firefox and read through it in Japanese.

Once you find an auction you want I open it in a new tab......as i type this, I have three windows open and approx 15-20 tabs in each window.

I do a search for newly added items 2x a day. I never miss anything AE86 related.

Hayatonka is good for large items has containers shipped to adelaide and brisbane. Able to contact niche workshops like nobby booth, j.blood and autofactory for me. But he is going througn a transition with his business and takes a day or two to get back to you.

Ep is good he is on fb. Has some good stock and some aftermarket ae86 parts.hes on fb all afternoon so if you got something that ends soon hell be able to get on it straight away. But couldnt post wheels I bought as they were too large???

Havnt used jesse in a while.

use Streeter, i use him all the time, wont have a problem, you'll get what your after, use import monster to browse yahoo JP.
Send streeter the yahoo link only, tell him how much you want to bid, pay him some money, win the auction, receive parts super quick.
no brainer really.
hope your pockets aint empty... because they will be soon!

Nothing against streeter, all good from me as well on several occasions!

...but! If you find something and want almost instantaneous replies, jdmwheels is your man! He is as dedicated as they come...

Is that quote serious? I've had two pairs of watas sent to me with import monster, both times postage was just under 200. Maybe you ticked the air mail option

Dug this up, shipping quotes from streeter. On the left is the weight in grams, middle and right columns are prices in Yen for Sea and Air mail. Can vouch for it's accuracy, just bought some shocks through him, weight = 5.5kg, shipping to Aus (via sea) = Y4,550. However, this doesn't count domestic shipping costs in Jdm land to his magicshop (was $30 Aud to give y'all an idea)

Streeter is the bomb! I'd hate to count how much I've spent with him over the last few years...would be into the 5 figure region easily tho...

Last minute bids don't work on yahoo Jp
If you bid in the last 10 mins, the system automatically adds another 10mins to the original finishing time.
You can't sniper auctions like you can on ebay.

+1 Jesse Streeter, often I have something coming every week! It is as a few have mentioned incredibly addictive being able to buy JDM stuff that you can't get here or get reamed up the ass by import shops, I also find you don't end up bidding with lots of people that can happen on ebay and the prices for things you would expect to be expensive can be very cheap, I have bought car and bike parts through him, some really big ticket bike parts and everything has been sweet as. Will continue to keep using him in the future. Over the years I would easy of spent $20K+ and never got anything that was not as described, maybe the Japanese are just honest. Always well packaged.
