I know I have read this somewhere awhile ago but I can't find the thread let alone what forum I read it on!
Car: ae86
Problem: bonnet hinge modification
Can anyone tell me how to go about modifying my bonnet hinges so the bonnet will lean back and stay up by its self?

It's very simple to do the mod to the hinge, problem is with the 86's the wipers hit the bonet and scratch/foul it, I took my wipers off and just take them to the track with me incase I need them.
On the hinge if you look closely you will see a little tag bent inwards to stop the hinge over opening, just bend it back or cut it flat with a grinder and it will go as far back as your roof will allow

Thanks for that drift kid, so if I bend it back a bit I can still use it as a stopper so it doesn't hit the roof?

Nah it's more like it's either getting full movement or it is restricted stock movement

Got it sorted :-) thanks heaps for your help drift kid, it was pretty easy once I knew what I was looking for, should make it easier to work on the engine now. Getting sick off taking the bonnet off and on lol

The CA is hassle but i cant afford anything toyota that makes similar power :-(. I have N2 flares to go on so the wheels won't be out that far

I like the CA's I don't think I'd put a SR in, I want to put a Toyota motor back in but I'll finish the rest of the car first
