NOW LOCATED IN MELBOURNE EASTERN SUBURBS

Bought this and never got to try it, went straight to aftermarket
The CDI unit looks a bit rough, but was pulled as a working ignition from a ae86 jap import car with a Blacktop 20v before i got it.
It is a batchfiring/waste-spark setup, firing in cylinder pairs. its got:

Ultra CDI Ignition section loom and plugs, one plug to main engine harness, 4 wires, igt,igf,+12,- (im pretty sure, there's definitely only 4 wires to the plug so I assume these are something like that)
FSD unit (fire sequence determination..)
ULTRA CDi unit - looks like CRAP, main reason i went straight to aftermarket. will probably need to be tested before installing, someone opened it before i did and cut away insulating silicone, case is cracked but the card is intact and all fine, no black burnt bits, its definitely been tested in some way previously, so its either busted or working. I have no idea never tried it, can't test it.
Individual ULTRA coils and great leads
20v Blacktop 4age stock ECU M/T
Hall effect sensor and bracket attaching to exhaust cam pulley.. theres some info here: http://forums.club4ag.com/zerothread?id=18900 3rd photo down is the same looking setup as this one.
Good cheap solution for dizzy-less ignition DLi for rwd ae101, ae111 etc or even for 16v for crazy spark

Cheers

$250

- you can buy yourself another new aftermarket cdi (MSD?) for 200 bucks if worried about the Ultra's condition. Sorry guys I have no idea if the cdi works or not I don't know how to test it cause its 450volts apparently, don't want to play around in there.
Its been priced accordingly, still a cheap legal alternative to aftermarket.

Alrite, Did this come off a 4AGE 20V Blacktop AE86 Conversion? becuase this is what mine looks like right now As of today30807

Will this work with my AE111 Blacktop Setup. Becuase looks allot cheaper then going down the Aftermarket ECU + the cost of Dyno tune and Getting it all wired up.

Only asking becuase you said it came out of a Jap AE86. If it wasnt a Blacktop Motor then i dont think it will work.

Hi, yes from a Blacktop 4ager. Comes with 4age Blacktop ECU and a ecu long loom to get you going, will need a 20v engine loom for the sensors unless already on your engine.
Much cheaper than aftermarket, and has a really high intensity spark, apparently can fire even the most fouled up plugs its spark is really hot, good burn etc etc
waste spark, so spark on exhaust stroke too

check out link, mostly all there

Hall sensor mounts to the exhaust cam,
plug in all the plugs into the varies devices from the ignition section of the loom
plug in spark leads
wire in igf, igt, 12+ and ground into main ignition plug
and complete wiring of the ecu pins ie sensors, cas, injectors etc

I am definitely no expert, I have just read this on varies forums, seems like its more popular o.s. than here

hope this helps
cheers

bump,
guess everyone here is well loaded and doesn't need sweet-cheap-stock-shit!?
its been in my boot since November in tas, I'm moving to melb soon and if this doesnt go and is still in my boot, then i may as well run it on the 16v over there, I'll get to see if it makes any difference after-all.
That means the Blacktop ECU will go separately if anyone needs one

I dont think its that man, Its just it seems untested, When you rebuild a Engine you buy you dont really want to cut corners you know. After you test it in a 16v and Get it working you should be able to sell that for $700

if you don't care about the nostalgic Ultra jap brand you could just buy a MSD of ebay for another 200 bucks. Guaranteed to work then? a complete ignition for any 4age donk? (16v needs a ecu +50$) pretty good for 450.
anyways, yeah like you say I may just fit it over in melb and see how it goes.
I bought it just to test my blacktop, but I never got to that stage, having to move soon I just needed the car to drive, so i forked out for a haltech. cost of another Bt.
Bought it from Anthony Kellam (Kaizen garage) on this site for like 320 i cant remember, he sold it to me as a working stock ignition system for my BT he had just pulled from an import with bt20v.
His customer was upgrading from that to aftermarket.

MSD you get rev limiting, 20 deg of spark on cam under 3g, multiple spark 'waste-spark' batch whatev, improves idle, throttle response and arguably power. I'll probably use something like this if the CDI is fukd

i donno, I pulled my 16v out and put a 20v in, The car has been fully restored by me except the Electrical and motor, Who ever did the last one before i bought it did the worst job, Some im just gonna buy a Microtech and get it professional Installed with all new loom etc

big bucks.
for like 'drive-ability' and what i dunno, 6-8kw? But I did, so I don't blame you! It will def be a better wiring job, but not to say you can't get in there and do it yourself.
after ECU + wiring work + materials + tune + re-tune when you get modifying things + engineering after ecu.. Pricey dicey

Bump, 250, offers for all, or individual stuff
Now located in Melbourne eastern suburbs, will seperate:

Blacktop 20v ECU MT and new long loom with most 20v BT plugs (missing CAS, VVT and TPS plugs i think, all else is there)
4 x Ultra individual coils and leads
FSD
and the Ultra CDI, in the process of getting this tested by an electrical guru (as well as ECU, FSD and coils) should be about a week and will have an answer to whether this is in working order or not.
