undo the bolts that hold the shock to the diff and from the top , trailing arms can be a bit of a pain in the springy department

dunno if they are on AU's but i remember on the EL i pulled the springs out of that there was a flat notch on the top of the shock that you could use pliers, multigrips, vice grips etc on to be able to loosen the nut off

did you get the springs from a live axel or IRS falcon? mine were from live axel.
yours may be IRS, but may fit?

PUT A SPRING CLAMP ON IT!!!!!!!

if you dont you will get seriously hurt.

if you dont need the shocks then put vice grips on the shaft. or there may be a allen head in the top of the shock, use a socket with vicegrips and an allen key through the middle

i cut the shock in half at the wreckers with a hack saw when it was in the car, hehe it took a while and got a bit oily, but got them in the end

i fail to see the problem, there are flats on the shaft to grab with a shifter/vicegrips/spanner.

its not an easy thing to get off but it can be done with patience, and a nice long tube hanging off your spanners lol

There are always falcon springs lying around at the wreckers. Try to find an aftermarket one.

Just measure the OD of a KE spring and find one similar but thicker so it's stiffer. Usually aftermarket falcon springs are red I have found.

Where in Brisbane are you located?
