View Full Version : no rear anti roll bar mounts?????

Hi guys im looking to put a rear anti roll bar in my 86 but there are no mounts on the rear axle where they should be any ideas?
I can post some photos tomorrow

Probably has a Celica or T-18 diff, which don't have the mounts. What series diff is it supposed to have?

im not sure i was told it was a standard rear end with lsd

Sounds like Series 1 - T18 to me

true what would be my best course of action get a new rear end or maybe get some mounts made up?

Or buy a suspension setup that is tuned for no rear sway bar

it's not cheap getting another diff, I say just add them to what you have

They are pretty simple to weld the brackets onto.

Cut some mounts off a borgy and weld em on.

If you're after grip you want a pretty floppy setup anyhow with the swaybar. Just leave it off, but if you want to drift the car you will need a more rigid connection from steering wheel to back axle, so whatever body English the car is given through the wheel will be directed to the rear end more completely. If you can get used to the slightly floaty feeling then the no swaybar idea is fine.
