Howdy.. Maybe someone here with more brains than me can solve my problem!

i have a 4agze running turbo and I have have the error code 52. I believe this is knock sensor.

now the car and runs fine and to me it isn't down on power. The CEL will only come on onCe the engine revs past 2600rpm. Turn the car off and light is gone.. Until it's revs past 2600rpm it come back on. I can do this all day long with the same result. Even if I clear the codes... Same thing happens.

i have taken the sensor out and put my multimeter on it on 200k ohms scale and when I tap it on the bench the reading goes higher, so I can only assume it works. Wiring from the sensor to the ecu is just a single wire and I'm pretty confident it is fine as this is a fairly fresh ke70 conversion

could it simply be the motor is actually knocking !? As I said before car seems to run fine. could the timing be slightly out ? I forgot what the timing is but when I did it, I did it all to spec.

could it be the ecu? Any way of checking this?

thanks for any help!!

Another thing is also.. When the cel comes on the tahco also stops working.. So maybe there is some wiring fault/ interference somewhere

So the light comes on and stays on and doesn't switch off?

I've had a faulty knock sensor before, where the light would come on / turn off.

Yeah when it comes on it will stay on until u turn the car off.
Once you start it back up there is no cel... Until u rev over around 2800rpm

I have this exact issue in a 4agze AW11.
My engine lights comes on at around 2,200rpm. Turn the car off and on again and it clears - can drive around all day under those revs. When my light comes on - the tacho does work.

Once on - does your car idle high/run rich? Mine does.
I'm also unaware of timing etc on my car, as I didn't do any of the mods to it (runs an SC14 supercharger)

Unfortunately I'm yet to find a knock sensor solution. They're quite expensive to "try" another model of knock sensor and the 4agze one from Toyota is long discontinued.

It's now March - did you come across a solution?
