yes suspension 3month and big f**k fine ..

and mostly likely a defect notice if the copper is a PIG.

dont do it... i have been told tho if you live in a different eg QLD and it is leagal to drive a turbo car in your state and you get pulled over in nsw for a driving a turbo i dont think they can do anything. OR did your car have to also be registerd in QLDS aswell ... something like that ..

but yes loss of licence for any nsw p-plater found drivng a prohibited vechile

Pretty sure they said on the news that they (they being pigs) have implemented a new onboard computer database which can bring up relevant data like criminal records even if the driver lives interstate. Not sure if it's only for normal offences or driving offences aswell.

This is semi-related. I can't seem to find any real info on Modified (engine convo's) and the restrictions applied to P platers. I'm pretty sure it's illegal but I know so many people who do it and they don't get caught.

Sorry to jack the thread, but can someone shed some light on this please?

http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/cgi-bin/index.cgi?fuseaction=demeritpoints.browsehandler&category=Fine+amount&offence=&SubmitButton.x=93&SubmitButton.y=8

'P1/P2 Driver fail to comply with conditions of licence - Drive prohibited vehicle $405 7 demerit points'

my mate got caught driving a maloo ute on his p's and only lost 2 points and a big fine

LICENCE CONDITIONS
Fail to comply with licence conditions $189 2 demerit points

chances are your mate was plain lucky and got away with this one instead

the turbo rule came in, in like 2005? for all new P platers, didnt apply to people who already had their license. 1 july 2007 no new P plater can drive a car with an engine conversion in nsw and in QLD must display P plates and must not drive any car that needs to be mod plated. the rules arnt really upheld except for displaying P plates and having a turbo though. there is a massive grey area in the whole section....

or use ur newly aquired turbo car to boost past them so they dont see u? should work eh?

far out just wait guys! learn to drive/drift on an na car, then when u move up to turbo it'll seem like a bigger jump in power than just going straight on it now~ really not worth it going turbs on p's
