So I very rarely drive the KE70 these days but due to the weather this week I was driving it to work every day and I has been getting worse. I jacked up the front of the vehicle to see what the heck was going on and there is a definite stiffness to the steering that was not there a month ago. I am pretty much decided that the sitting around for ages and the fact that I have done 220km in a week has meant that the steering uni has given up the ghost. Where do I get a new one and does anyone else have any alternative ideas on what might be going on.

Cheers
Paul

It may be the guts of the rack that's dried out/got sticky. You could pull the steering shaft off the rack and check if it's the uni and steering column that feels dodgy or the rack itself.

If it's the rack then you could regease and adjust the preload which may help.

Liberal doses of inox and moving it back and forward seems to have loosened it up but would still like a new one. Where do u get one from?
