Hey Im new to this forum but I'm hoping somebody can help me out.

My ae86 started today after work just fine. I put it in first and I started to drive and then it died on me suddenly. It wouldn't start again. I even rolled it down a hill to see if I could maybe pop start it and bypass the issue. When i release the clutch to pop it in, the motor sputters and then slowly loses rpms until it dies.

The starter is cranking the motor.
The spark plugs are clear of oil
All the boots are pushed on all the way
Tune-up in the last 5000 miles
It is 240k mile motor...

Im thinking fuel pump, who knows how old it is... :crying:

Welcome here. For a car to start it must have air, fuel and spark. Once you work out which one is missing it will be reasonably easy to identify to pin point the exactly problem.

The following is how i usually diagnose a car that won't start

Turn the key and see if the starter turns over the motor
Remove a spark plug lead and rest it on the rocker cover and check for the spark
Check for fuel injector pulse with a noid light
Measure the fuel pressure or if no gauge undo the banjo bolt a little and watch for fuel to spray as it is under pressure

If fuel + spark i turn the motor over by hand and look through the oil filler cap to see if the cams are turning
Check the cam timing
Physically Check / replace the spark plugs
Compression Test

There are obviously things to check if any of tests above fail. Let us know the results of each test and we will go from there
