Hi everyone.

I've got an AE92 smallport on carbs, running the full AE92 water setup.

I've looked online, and have set it up as all the guides have shown but have run into a problem.

The carb manifold I am using (a Kameari unit) fouls on the FWD top water outlet as it sits forward to clear the brake booster - another common problem with carbs.

Both the manifold and the carbs hit. In these images they aren't bolted down hard - it's much worse when they are.

Has anyone come across this issue?
What is going to be the most cost effective way of dealing with this issue? Or is there a way to easily modify or change the top water outlet setup?

If I get the Kameari or RWD top water outlet, I believe I will need to get a RWD alternator bracket, and also won't have the outlet on the water housing to feed back to the remote thermostat. Is this right?

This is the outlet designed to fit with the manifold on a RWD application.

Thanks in advance.

That bolt in the side could you find a countersunk bolt that uses an allen key?

If you use the rwd alternator bracket, then you need the water pump pulley as well.

After a bit of brainstorming I came up with this as the most economical solution.

I have cut and filed flat the rear outlet to feed back into the thermostat. Being carbed, I can use the threaded temp gauge outlet and put a right angled fitting in. Alternatively, I can put a hole in the underside. Or put a gauge in-line somewhere.

Made up a plate to suit and it clears.

Thought I would update this, as others may have similar problems as me. A Redline manfold won't have this issue, but will hit the brake booster instead.

This will then be TIG welded, and a bit of light porting so as to not restrict water flow too much.
