Hello, I recently picked up an ae86 levin hatch. I took it to a mechanic to fix the slave and master cylinder and they have said more concerning issues have arised such like a loose diff and control arms. The previous owner had written it is a Hilux shortened diff w/ disc break conversion. The mechanic said the car is unsafe to drive and would get red stickered if I was pulled over. How can I fix this? Sorry I don't know much about these cars.

If you don't know much about AE86s then you can pay a mechanic to fix it (preferably one you trust).

If you are keen to learn you can get it up on stands and have a look at what's loose. It's not terribly complicated back there so you should have no trouble finding worn/self destructed bushings and/or loose bolts and/or broken chassis bits.

Spend a bit of time reading and looking at pictures and it shouldn't be difficult.
