G'day gents.
This is probably somewhere further back in the technical questions but since the lurker message won't go away until I write something seems introductions and questions go hand in hand.
I've got the irritating loose bulb that blinks the whole 86s display out whenever I drive over rough roads - I'm sure I've removed all the screws holding the dash in but it won't come off - anyone know where I can find instructions for pulling the display or dash out?

It could be the dimmer knob, If I roll mine to a certain point I get a blackout.

The knee panel comes off. Then the dash fascia unscrews at its lower edge, and then the cluster unscrews from the dash tray moulding with 4 screws. I assume youve already found the three screws above the gauges?

Three small screws were gone when I purchased the car, they were one of the first things I found for the wrong reasons...
Knee panel -> Dash fascia, screws along its lower edge -> Cluster from dash moulding with four screws.
Anything I should purchase before my second attempt that is usually busted in the 86s?

I also think it would be the dimmer switch.

Now this is going back a long time so my memory could be bad with this one: I know it's not legal here but the issue was fixed on my car and a friends by finding the black wire that runs vertically up the right hand side up to the dimmer switch, soldering a wire onto it in the middle somewhere and then directly grounding it. This bypasses the prone to fail dimmer switch and keeps the globes lit up fully at all times. That means that with only a short bit of wire and a soldering iron it ends up being all good, I doubt anyone runs theirs at anything except for full brightness anyway.

It's a classic problem, and there are a few solutions. I just resoldered all connections on the little circuit board in the dimmer switch and everything worked fine again.

Also to get the dash off, you need to remove the two big nuts that hold the headlight switch and wiper switch into the dash. Pull hte front dials off and you should then see a biggish (17mm??) nut buried in the dash.
