Hey, im planning on modding my newly bought T18 to run in my ae71, But i havent had alot of experience with Brakes and after reading into the conversion im a little confused. If anyone can let me know how they went when doing the conversion and some tips it would be appreciated. Also if anyone has done it in melbourne and wants to help me do the conversion i'd be more then happy to provide booze  Cheers

Can you elaborate on whats required with the conversion ?
Like parts needed etc to do a rear disc conversion.

Really keen as i have a t18 diff sitting here waiting to be converted into rear discs.

rona st142, pretty much the whole rtear disc setup haha, you'll need to pinch the axles aswell, i managed to find a conversion madoove that allowed me to retain the original t-18 axles

is it only the rt142? or st142 ? or st141? can you use rt142 IRS disc brake setup ? Does anyone know what handbrake cables need to be used ? or should i just get some made up? Also i've been reading alot about a pipe spacer that needs to be used to make the bearing sit properly. anyone done this b4 ?

I haven't completely bolted mine together yet, but I used the T18 axles and bearings and made up a spacer ring. If you get the plates that hold the axles in off the corona they have the spacer rings already welded onto them and you just use them instead of the T18 ones with a spacer ring.

I heard that the corona cables with a SV11 front cable works, but haven't actually put it in the car yet, so no guarantees on that.

I'm pretty sure the brake setup is from an RT142. Its the Avante model, whichever that is. Its a solid rear end.

so your saying i dont have to get the corona axles at all when i get the bits ???? as i can just use the t18 retainer plate with a spacer ??? i've never looked at a disc brake setup in pieces so you'll have to excuse my noobness in that area.

Yeah, but unless you know someone with a lathe it'll probably pay off to get the corona retaining plates.

There is a write up on Toymods, and used to be one on here....

Found it:

It's all incredibly easy once you have it sitting in front of you. There's another writeup here (http://www.toymods.net/forums/showthread.php?t=32132), as you'll notice there is some difference in the details, but that's because there are many different ways of doing it.

Does anyone know if you can use rt142 rear discs from a IRS avanti corona ? or must you use the solid borgie type diff discs ?
