Car - Ae71 with Ke70 flat front 4age smallport

Suspension - Running Ta63 struts with custom coilovers, sigma control arms, PS arms from TA63, Kmac camber/caster tops.

Wheels - 13x8 +3 superlites running 5mm slip on spacer

problem - RCA's: AJPS sell 40mm to suit these struts but they look to be too large to run my 13x8's as the bottem of the ball joint will foul on the inner rim.

Possible Solutions: Machine the AJPS 40mm RCA's down to 30mm. Has anyone done this before or knows an engineer who would be suitable?
OR
Making something like this? ...... see attached picture. If someone has done this before please let me know. Or recommend an engineer who is capable

Location: Melbourne S.E suburbs

If anyone in my area has the AJPS 40mm RCA's to suit RA60 struts. I'd be interested to test fit them to see how close it would actually be.

Any help would be appreciated as i would like to lessen bump steer

With 13" rims, you are always going to run out of room fitting various things like brakes and RCA's.

If you want to get your 40mm spacers machined down to 30mm, then almost any engineering shop or farmer with a lathe can do this. It is about the most simplest job a machine shop could ever be asked to do, so just go to any.

Whiteline sell RCA's for the sprinter struts, not the RA60 strut.

Like Jonny said, Its a super simple job... Wouldn't take very long at all to machine your 40mm ones down......

i just did a quick check of the whiteline website, according to them the KCA363 suits corolla's and celicas ?:gah: ? utterly confused, as from what i know the bolt spacing is different.

Last time i checked 13's wouldnt fit over xA6x series brakes? Might want to check the struts and find out if they are truely xA6x.

Just saw pic, looks like sumitomo calipers so disreguard above.

No Biggo you are correct. My 13s did not fit over the TA63 brake calipers. I worked out that they only needed a little shave. So i took them to a local shop that builds rally cars and spoke to them about shaving a small amount of meat off the top of the caliper, after an inspection all was good, so off with a about 5mm's of excess metal. its a TIGHT fit about 2-3mm from the inner rim :DD i painted the calipers after and you would never know unless someone told you. its a tried and tested procedure in the rally world, making those huge 6 piston calipers on huge rotors to fit under 15" rims that comply with the rules, funny thing is they attach little rubber fins on the rim so it cleans the mud and small rocks so they dont jam in the small area of clearance between the rim and caliper. Clever buggers.

There are special ball joints that act as RCA's, do a search on the net as they might help you more.

But realistically, I doesn't sound like its going to work anyway. Get bigger wheels or deal with bump steer.

Thanks for the input. I have 2 sets of rims that i run on my car, 13x8's with 215/50/13 fronts and 235/50/13 rears, Bridgestone Eagers and 15x6.5's with 195/50/15 all round. I run the 15" wheels in the winter (wet) and the 13" wheels in the summer (dry) as fat, hard compound tyres on a light car aquaplane in the wet..... :worried:
I have tracked down the last existing pair of KCA363 RCA's that whiteline have as they are discontinued and they assure me it will fit the RA60-65 Strut.... Dont know how but if they dont fit i'll keep them for my ke20.

i wonder if theres some out there that could be made to fit corona arms?

you just have to use the right ball joints that dont have those big nipples on them and you should have plenty of room.

i know i do

i was reading last night about those type of RCA's used on WRX's made by whiteline. They rock themselves out of the LCA and also the rubber boots rip on them constantly. scarey.

Thats how my car is now, one nipple no nipple. theres a huge difference in clearance, i reckon i could just fit 40mm RCA's in there if i had no nipple on both left and right. what size rims are they in the pics ?
