Well went to the last Project D day at OP last night! Very sad! But fuck did i have a good night!
Got the new handbrake in the car about 15mins before we left. So shit was on! Got to the track and not many ppl were there so once my car past scrutinizing i stuck it straight in the line up (1st out). Basically one of my first laps i destroyed the syncro on third gear meaning once i was in fourth i could not get back to third, i found this out half way into a fast 4th gear entry trying to grab third to turn the car around, what ended up happening was the car turned itself around and i went off and well this happened haha...
So after that i basically just stayed in third and only shifted to 2nd at the bass player and then back to third cause i could push the syncro over. So rev limit was hating life!
I had a rad night and it only got better when my Dads mate rocked up who is a EX pro Nascar driver. So he started fiddling with my front end suspension and tyre pressure to suit my style and fuck me! I could enter at double the speed and according to ppl that came up to me at the end of the night i was a crowd favourite.. Dont know what that means! But cool! I felt that i sent Oran Park off well in my memory for me so im super stoked! I wish i had 4th cause i could have gone even faster but shit happens. I also destroyed my rear bar.. again and its now dead!
Here are some pictures after i cleaned it today, the new and improved handbrake that Fresh Matt did and some marks that ended up on my road after a squirt around the block. I'll try have the incar vid up today and maybe someone would have taken a picture of it..
I also have to mention the difference the handbrake made was OUTSTANDING! compared to how it was before in its "simple" form, there is no flex i have so much adjustment and i barely have to work on it.
Next event is Feb 5th at Eastern Creek and then Powercruise on the 26th 27th of Feb.
Next plans is Equal Length 4 link with a twist, maybe a sprint car style panhard rod set up, more power, fix the box - maybe Z32 and just keep driving the balls off it.
