    Default KE35 for the track?

Been hunting for something to have some fun with on the track, Been offered a KE35 for a case of beer...

I would prefer a 70 or something a bit younger, but hey, the price is right.

Just wondering if they're feasable as a budget track car?
Not looking to rego it. Considering you can chuck a CA18. RB30, 4age etc into a 70 without too much hassle, what are my options with this?

What can I do along lines with brake and suspension upgrades?

I'm looking for something that will grip and be capable of the occasional drift session for the heck of it.

cheers guys, I'm a bit of a corolla newbie, so be fair

Hey mate, big fan of the ke35 myself - from memory they are a touch lighter than a 70, so that is one possible advantage.

As for upgrades I know that ta22/ra28 front suspension/brakes are a common upgrade. I *think* that ae86 bolts in much the way it does to a ke70

As for the back end its leaf spring so some work maybe required if you want to get serious (fitting panhard or 4 link - look at what the Escort boys have been doing for years, most of the theory transfers)

Power wise they came with 2t motors elsewhere so I *think* you can raid a ta22 for the right bits to do the swap. That said they have been popular as cheap race cars for a while so if you hunt around you'll see them with 4age's, 3sge's, sr20's, ca18's, etc etc

There are a couple in IPRA, Sharperto Racing i think is the name of the team - defintitely worth a google search, their car runs hard

Hope that helps - is it a 4 door or a 2 door? It won't make much difference to the info I've given you, but the hardtops look awesome

The nephews run 2 IP cars with 3sgte, they run modded front coilover struts, panard rears. They can be made to handle well and if the required oil mods are made the 3s run fine wet sumped.

Cheers guys, what I wanted to hear!
I'd love it if it was a hardtop, they look great, but I'm pretty sure its a 4 door.

Found a 240k with full cage & gauge setup but no running gear (inc suspension) for not much more, going to have a datto enthusiast check it out & give me a verdict... the KE35 is still available for a few weeks too if things dont work out.

Ask on rollaclub or ozdat about the cars but I've seen some cool rollas that i think were getting good lap times around the net.
I always imagined 240ks would be kind of heavy for serious track cars but they look cool.

Serious is not on my cards, dont stress. I just dont want to have to have the worry of a car for the track that doubles as a rego'd daily.

ah dammit, I've gotta register again on toymods to see that link.... I think my little bro still has access.
