Little update. Got my nopics to help with putting the brake masters in. The old righty tighty lefty loosey thing. So the masters are now mounted up:
Just need to get some bundy hose and make up the brake lines for them.
Also mocked up the brake reservoir there, i dont have a drill which is small enough to get in there. Considering getting one of the angle drill adaptors, but even then not sure if it will be small enough.
This is what it looks like from above:
Last option is to drill from the otherside through the strut tower, but even then it would be very tight with the drill.
Also picked up the caliper adaptors from the laser cutters this morning:
Need to get 4mm milled off the mounting face, and then i can drill and tap them for the calipers.
New brake lines next week for the entire car too.
The brake setup is very neat, looks like you did a great job. How does the reservoir attach, strap or is that a mounting ring on the bottom?
Thats what it looks like, and on that band/ring bit there are two vertical 6.5mm holes for bolting it to. I have made up a little angle aluminum bracket to mount it onto there, just need to attach it to the strut tower.
The nice thing with the current brake setup is that it hasnt destroyed any of the old mounts or holes. If i need to go back to a boosted or other setup i can, quite easily.
Ah right. Why not mount it on the fender side of that area?
I think i had a look at that last night, will check again, but from memory there wasnt enough room vertically for the hoses to come out.
I didn't think of that, those barbs are quite long. Put some pics up when you get it done.
are you not allowed to run fluids on the inside? like under the dash?
stroked 2L ca18-ae86 in the build...eta xmas 2012?
I can, but why. It fits well there, and there is MUCH less room under the dash.
