This makes no sense, the factory jdm fuel line is aluminum and that seems to last what 30 years ? And it also runs on the underside of the floor without issue, I've run mine along the floor next to the chassis reinforcement rails with no issue also

Yeah, that is what i would say too, lots of people talking down alloy fuel lines as well. Realistically it will get a good check over after every event, perhaps used 4-5 times a year.

Also my chassis rail on the drivers side has a nice dent in it from the inside of T1 at Mallala when i got forced in tight, so im a bit dubious about there.

Yeh that's where mine is but I do try not to ride ripple strips, could either try run next to the sill panel or run in the tunnel for that small section where the floor is low.. Or maybe reinforce that small bit of chassis rail

Maybe weld a piece of 20mm rhs into the corner of that rail and run the line through that ?

Yeah, its not so much planning to ride ripple strips, but simply accounting for the possibility that ill get forced off track again (or run off of my own accord pushing too hard). With the IPRA regs i cant reinforce it, and if im running it through the cabin i may as well do that for the entire thing.

I think ill just run it through the trans tunnel, on the underside, as in the case of a tailshaft explosion i doubt the extra 0.9mm will increase the survivability of the line. This is Wade's car after the tailshaft explosion there:

The extra steel didnt do squat.

In the end i went with the alu fuel lines running through the trans tunnel, predominantly because running next to the chassis rail makes them very vulnerable to ripple strips if you are forced onto them. This is the damage from being forced onto the T1 ripple strip at Mallala when i was tucking up the inside of a guy who decided to aim for the apex at the last minute.

Engine bay is all terminated, and the new SARD FPR installed:

Just need to build the soft lines for the engine bay. The connections at the tank are almost done too, i just ran out of time today.

Looks the goods mate. Giving me some good ideas for doing mine.

Are you using 3/8 as the feed line?

Yeah, 3/8 feed, 1/4 return. Its been running on -6 feed -4 return for a few years now, so i figured i would just keep it like that with the new hard lines.

Havnt had much time to work on this for a while, but had a couple of hours today.

Did up the new brake fluid res's with new lines and res'

Resprayed the tank, and remounted it, and also flared the lines for AN fittings

    Fitted the new wing mirrors

Started setting up the new datalogging stuff, 100psi sensor there

Plus this arrived for some more fun

Need to go out and get more fuel line for the connections in the spare tyre well and under floor, and then i can finish that off. Really need to source a few wiring bits so i can finish off the engine bay loom, and then ill have to redo some of the interior loom too. All fun and games.
Oh and the exhaust is half done, ish.
