Got the exhaust sorted yesterday. Cost me $80, and its a mint job. Just need to sort out the filter attachment and I'll be good to go.
Maybe new front tyres...

It;s been a long time coming, but my AE86 is back on the road!
After replacing the fuel pump over the ANZAC day long weekend, its all running again. Paid rego on the weekend and took it for a drive today - car still feels great, the clutch is a little bit sticky but hopefully that's just from lack of use.
Some new pics:
The good: Engine doesn't miss a beat, still has the roar up top. Doesn't feel like it's been sitting in a shed for the last 9 months unused. Still feels as tight as it was when I last drove it. Still brings a smile to my face after driving it.
The bad: Lots of stuff that most old cars have. Rust has taken hold a bit, a couple of massive spots where the paint has fallen off and bits of cancer around the place - saving up to get that properly done. The old paint has faded a bit and has peeled in a couple of places. Interior is old, missing some bits of plastic after it was broken into a few years ago, and the steering wheel needs a re-trim. Suspicious whining noise from the right rear of the car which has been getting worse over the last few years, unsure if bearing or diff.
Overall I can't really complain, the car still runs and drives as good as before, with plenty to work on over the next few years. The plan is to start adding more JDM parts to it (diff, seats, other bits and pieces), keeping it road legal but able to take it to the track and be competitive.

Cheers Johl, been a fair while but will give it the love it deserves soon.
Going overseas for a month so getting some driving done now to get it all cleared out, should still be good when I get back.

Took the Sprinter for a drive up Mt Mee behind Wamuran. Nothing silly, just a good drive to shake it down. Went with my brothers 3SGTE'd SW20 MR2 he recently bought. Was a good afternoon.
Only problem I had was with the clutch - I noticed it was a bit sticky but thought nothing of it, today it felt better but when we go to the top of the hill and stopped, the clutch pedal went right to the floor and hardened up, to the point where I couldn't get it in gear. Opened the bonnet, let the warm air out and it came good. Appears that it overheated as there was some fluid overflowed from the main reservoir. Followed the line down to the clutch and tab that it sits on to go to the slave is on the exhaust, and the final part of the line actually wraps around the exhaust pipe. Once I got the heat out of it it seemed ok, and the rest of the drive down it wasn't too bad. Might get some heat resistant padding if I can fit it under there, or else go for a braided line.

Oh man! So cool to see your car on the road again! Makes me reminisce about my old one circa 2008 / 2009.
