    Default aftermarket cams

    hey all just wondering what is the biggest size cam i can go with out changing my shims ?

    I have Toda 288 Deg. 8.5mm lift in mine with stock shims.... Dunno how much higher you can go but it's a good indication.

    when ever you change cams you should always check clearance's and change shims accordingly.

    My car already had them in when I bought them, head was pulled apart and ported/valve springs etc, was told they were the stock shims.

    It hasnt spontaneously combusted or caused the earth the rotate backwards so I guess they're ok LOL.

    stock shims- he prolly ment that they were stock arrangement and wernt solid's or shim under bucket.

    well im getting 288 cams with 8.35 lift so do i need to change my shims ?
