    Default Critique my ignition map?

Have a recently running ae111 engine running on VEMS.

The engine is stock with a 4-2-1 trd header.

What do you guys think of this ignition map? I'm running AlphaN

255 kpa = WOT. using megatune.

Hi Grant. Have a look here, this is for a 4agte and there are two versions of the MSQ. One with 220cc injectors and the other with 440cc injectors.

I think you'll find that for NA engines anything above atmospheric pressure should be irrelevent. Given that atmospheric is ~100kpa at sea level the upper four load bins are being wasted. I would spread them out a bit more rather than bunch them up at the bottom (ie. 13 kpa in the space of 6 bins). Spreading them out will allow you to cover your idle and cruise values a bit better too.

    Thanks for the reply.

As I mentioned, 255 KPA = WOT and I'm using AlphaN. That is not the actual manifold pressure. AlphaN disregards the manifold pressure. So, 127.5 KPA is roughly 50% throttle, and so on.

I'm thinking I need a lot more timing at the higher RPM. Car pulls well down low, but up high it seemed quicker with the OEM ECU.

uhhh....I'm strictly using tps to give me load. I didn't know there was a difference. ... there is no map blending at all.

So I've been reading that some people are running up to 40 degrees ignitino advance above 6000 rpm at WOT.

Could that be possible? Should I be running around 34-35 for starters until I have money and time to get the car tuned?

I assume you read the calculations in the tuning section of the megasquirt manuals? (I'd give you the link but I can't access it from work). It gives a base formula for calculating max advance and advice on setting up the table. My thought would be less advance rather than more, but I'm new to the tuning game, so hopefully somone like Ant will give you some advice based on solid experience.

If you haven't already, also try asking on the msefi forums.

Would you mind sending me your msq? I've PM'd you my email address.

    Chris
