thats essentially what the t3 kit does sam.

to get the car low enough for most of us, the spring perch is basically on the adjuster knob at the bottom. and the hat moves the spring downabout 85 mm from the mount point.

it is pretty awesome, rather simple in theory too

and for most conventional rear coilovers, you have to elongate the mounting hole for them to mount properly without shell interference.

well ok maybe I didnt explain myself well enough, I mean have the fixed spring seat on the bottom and then the adjustable seat on the top so it winds down.

I want to make my own up machining up everything but I need to find some kind of shockers that can handle the load put on them. Normal shocks arn't made for the force of a spring seat on them

well I just thought it would mean the large diameter part would be at the bottom away from the tight area neat the shocker top, so no elongation would be needed or clearence issues there. But hey I havent had a good look, I would like to machine something up though, I think it would be an interesting project.

the tite spot is close to the middle. The cap that the damper bolts to isnt too deep and the elongation of the top hole jus allows the spring to sit further away lower down. Mine was elongated and it touchs very slightly on a small section about halfway down the spring, maybe a bit higher? was easy fixed with a hammer though

Gillys coilover setup was one of the cleaner setups going around, and its a real pitty he cant keep the ball rolling on them cos i have only heard REAL good things about the dampers

yeah good to know. I have too many things to do right now and if we did something I think it would only be for use as there is too much involved to be viable business wise

My initial idea on making a set was to just have a sleeve that literally slides over the top of the shocker body and is prevented from sliding down too far with a cap on the end. At the other end the shocker shaft goes through the body as per normal but I make a top hat fit over the shaft also. Or something along those lines. From what I have been told trying to get all the force of the springs to go through a bush at the end of the shockers is a no-go. WHat have others done to fix this issue?
