the tite spot is close to the middle. The cap that the damper bolts to isnt too deep and the elongation of the top hole jus allows the spring to sit further away lower down. Mine was elongated and it touchs very slightly on a small section about halfway down the spring, maybe a bit higher? was easy fixed with a hammer though

Gillys coilover setup was one of the cleaner setups going around, and its a real pitty he cant keep the ball rolling on them cos i have only heard REAL good things about the dampers
