you don't need to go hardcore super expensive pistons. Spend it on cams. I built one a few years ago with 1mm oversize ACL pistons, standard rods (ARP bolts), ported head, 302/288 cams, 45mm webers, 4-2-1 pacemakers, 10:1 comp = 96rwkw from a 1770ishcc motor.

my 2tg already has cams of some description, so it looks like i'll have to find some pistons with the fly cuts in them already which seems to be the safest bet.

wiseco's look like they are the most readily available.
