Yes. they most definitly are.
275amps will lock pretty much anything........

Axles are the weakest link by a long shot.
you've shown a brogy but yeah, s seires have inspection holes you just have to fit the end of ya welder in em, get it in there nice and deep like, with full penetration of that weld

It's a toyota T series
I had an s series but i can't remember if the centre was too closed up to get at.

Been running one for over a year no hassles.
And if you knew me you'd know how much abuse it cops!
S series is harder to get at than T series (shown in photo above) but it sure can be done. I've welded/used plenty.
