i had the same problem ages ago, i used a washer that was pretty hard. so all i did is got the a rubber washer beside me... slowly undid the sump bolt, then jammed my finger there. then i got my sister to change the washer and i put it back in.
you will either get your arm covered in oil (loose like 200ml) or you will have to drain it entirely.

Get an organic sump washer, those are the best.
Hmm, it isn't losing a great deal. Might just drain it when I get back and put it back in. Pretty sure the washer is the right size. Will see when I do it! Thanks for the responses guys.

It's only losing oil when it's parked. At this stage, all I can do is top it up when I have too (doesn't lose much) and I will have to drain and look at it again when I get back. Thinking an aluminium washer this time... *shrugs*

try a copper or brass washer
The GFs father got told that, all he could buy was an aluminium one. Does the job by the sound of it.
