well i pulled the lead out of the coil and held it really close aswell this has worked for me in the past ....
well yer i moved the ecu it was just sitting on the passenger footwell... i was really careful in doing it and the car was running fine after i did if for about 5 days.
i havent checked it directly at the spark plug but i figured if it wasnt sparking past the coil then it wont be sparking at the spark plug correct me if im wrong.
the only thing i did b4 the car stoped running was put some tape around a wire where im guessing acc power has been taken from on the wiper motor as the tape on it had come off and the wire was exposed....
i do agree i have seen some bad wiring jobs out there but yer maybe stuf has been changed or played with since it was wired up

ok you need to ensure these three wires have power when the ignition is on

    batt
    b+1
    b+

you can se their location on this diagram

if they do, then the ecu should be powering up, if not, then thats your problem.
the two relays on teh strut tower provide power for the ecu and fuel pump. trace the power through these

i had this same problem turned out to be the green plug not making the best of contacts on the cas play around with the green plug and see what happens
    the dyno pull to 300rwkw

BT20v is making 300rwkw like i said i would without nitrous so now its time for some spray and see if she will run a 10s or less

so it doesn't have a distributor? I couldn't see from the pics but I assumed since its a bigport 4age that it would be. And he says that he changed the dizzy in there so hey i guess it was a valid assumption. anyway since he isn't getting a spark from the manin dizzy lead the argument is pointless anyway little joke hahah

just because it has a dizzy doesnt mean it has points......do some research into how an ignition system in an EFI car actually works

oh aren't we snippy. Just cos your riding the cotton pony doesn't mean you can have a go at me for being helpful! All your doing is getting shitty with him cos he calls that ratnest wiring job messy
Im probably calling them the wrong thing but i mean the contact points in the dizzy there the button contacts.
Again it really doesn't matter since it obviously isn't the problem. I still reckon its signal from the ecu. Which might make it worth your time to check the earths on the ecu.

how can you be helpful when you dont even know what you are talking bout?
you cant be helpful to someone else on a technical matter if you yourself dont know what you are talking bout, or the correct names of mechanical parts. you can keep trying to argue with a qualified mechanic if you want.....but it will just make you look like more of an idiot.

at what point was i getting shitty with him? please, quote the part where i am shitty, id like to know....as he agreed, stuff has been changed since i did the job. OVER A YEAR AGO

there are several earths that need to be checked:
-on the inlet manifold between cyl 2 and 3. it will have a group of brown wires bolted to the manifold.

also, munki maybe correct, on ADM looms, which i believe from memory this was, you need to have a crank reference wire.
this is a BLACK/WHITE wire near the fire wall above the exhaust, this needs to have power when cranking, otherwise the car will not start. look for a black terminal sitting by itself in that area with that colour wiring.

im not sure whats going on with that wiper motor wire, as thats definitely not something i would have done, but best to tape it up to avoid it arcing out.

ok so i have checked the point on the ecu that u showed above silde 86 to find there was no power ther so i went and got a new relay and now its sparking

... now its just the timing which i may have fuked when i tryed the other dizzy i cant remember puting mine back in after trying my spare therefore cant remember lining it up alright (now im feeling stupid) so will have to get someone around to look at the timing but it looks like the problem is fixed

thanks for all ur advice its been heaps helpful
