Think it shouldn't cost more then $500. Less money I spend on the block the more that can be spend on the head.

Rod bolts turned up today, so now have everything to put the internals back in.

Haven't really achieved much on the 7A. Pushed the pins back into the rods with the pistons. Also while pulling apart another spare block I had at home it appears to have 4AGZE rods as they are way bigger then the silvertop ones. Could have just built a turbo 4A instead....

Pic to compare: 7A to 4AGZE

    Thanks mate

Got the 7A bottom end together. Waiting on a seal kit and have to clean up my oil pump. Modified sprocket should turn up soon and have to order some new head bolts and I think that should be everything to at least bolt the head to the block. I am still having trouble with the blacktop in there at the moment, for the life of me I can't work out why it won't start....

Started making progress on the 7AGE again. Everything is together just need to find a suitable timing belt. Need a 114 tooth belt if any one knows of a car that uses one? And here are some photos:

    Engine gone!

There has been a lot more done just didn't take any photos today. Hopefully have it back in and running next weekend.

depending on what oil pump u used, the 16v belt should be the one to go for?

Used a oil pump off a silvertop 20V which I think is the same as a late model 16V. Brought a new 16V timing belt and its too short (113 teeth). It could possibly be used by either modifying the idler pulley so it can move further towards the inlet side or using a smaller one.

Sorted out the timing belt, used a Peugeot 205 timing belt has 1 extra tooth then a 16V. Spent today and got the motor together and back in the car. Best thing is it actually runs. Need to put everything back this weekend then I can drive it again.
