Default pissed off shit quality ebay chair screws question

    hey guys

ive had an ebay fixed back seat for a while now, now in the last week ive finally bought some buddyclub seat rails which are pretty sweet and now my stupid seat is giving me issues

i know its ebay, it was cheap, and i make no excuses for the super average quality of it

    these screws here:

there are screwed into plastic, which is the first mistake, anyway, i managed to get ONE out of the 4 screws out with relatively no trouble.............all the other screws are being c*nts. they are spinning in the hole and not coming out, and they are all sitting loosely in the socket, i dont understand whats going on. ive tried to put pressure on the from the underside to push them out while im unscrewing them from the top, doesnt work, tried some other things which also didnt work

i just wanna know if theres anything else i can try without splitting the plastic, which is also shit quality, coz if i do the chair will be useless i guess,
and one more thing, once i get them out im pretty sure they wont screw back in, so is there anyway i can salvage the holes? like bigger screws into the holes or something?

its just a pain in the ass, no other words for it

anyway ebay stores are shite , cheers guys

if they are spining, id take a guess and say the plastic threads are already screwed as u did them too tight in the first place. stupid to be using SCREWS into a PLASTIC thread to hold down a seat that the driver of an automobile has to sit in.
in the event of a crash it would be game over. but hey, thats ebay for u lol. and u probably already know this anyway. best would have been bolts + metal. although they seem to have a hex head? confuzzled.

u will probably need to grab the fuckers with vice grips and twist them out whilst pulling.

aren't they bolts in them with the nuts on the inside?

probably the easiest thing to do is pull off the "skin" on the inside and rip a little hole through the foam to hold the nut. then cover it back up when your done!

nah i didnt screw them in first, it came like this

ill give them a go with vice grips tomorrow, but like i said, if possible i would like to re-use them, but im struggling to think of any ways to do that

nah theyre not nuts with bolts, that would be quite a bit easier

fuck my lack of funds available to buy a high quality seat

there is a reason adr aproved seats are legal and these are not. they are not safe! if you have a crash and the seat comes loose because of the dodgy mounting system... well the lack of funds could cost you your life. not worth it really, stick it in the shed as a comfy seat for when you are having a brake from working on the car and buy a good quailty seat.

from the sounds of things you have "threaded" the holes, which means the spiral thread inside has now been damaged and no longer works as a thread. hence why your bolt (screw) will not undo but just turns. it is posible to use a helicoil set to fix up the threaded holes once you have the bolts out.

even if you can fix this you shouldn't use it in your car. Sorry man but you just wasted your money

tried putting a rattle gun on it? if you don't have one then visit me

see if you can push a flat head screw driver inbetween the bracket and the seats shell to put the screws under some tension, might help them grab and thread them selves out, either way the seat is going to need bigger bolts used next time and you will prob need to re tap the holes.
If you still want to use the seat you could remove the cover and use a nut and large flat washer(to spread the load) on the inside of the seat, then just recover it, at least it would be a little safer that way

I think I have the same seat. It is not plastic theads. It is a nut and a bolt. The nut is on the inside. I have mine mounted very solid.

You have to take off the spring and fold back the fabric. Feel around on the inside of the seat (you may have to pull the foam apart slightly) and you will find the nut. Use a 14mm socket.

Maybe it is a pain to pull back the fabric and get a socket in there every time you adjust the height. It's not too bad once you know how.

    i am a tard

ok, its with a high level of embarassment that i tell all u guys the answer to my problem

johnny rochester and squish m8 were right, the stupid bolts had nuts on the inside under all the fabric and foam and stuff, so its all bolted up to the superlow rails looking nice and ready to be bolted into my car hopefully next week

and the bolts arent going through only plastic, as it turns out it theres a material that the bolts run through that is covered by layers of plastic
so hopefully not as unsafe as i first thought haha

anyway, stupid mistake on my part, thanks anyway for ur help
