    Default Restoring Wheels..

    Hey fellas,

I did some searches before posting this and can only really find stuff about ssr meshies.

I wanna restore my wantanabes eventhough i have a rough idea on sanding and the rest of it, do you guys have any tips?

How would the finish be if there painted with a rattle can?

    Any suggestions on colours?

Damo man you can buy this stuff that's actually meant for painting wheels. I found it in a variety of colours from the local Auto One. If you prep well it works well.

Mind you I was painting steelies. May be a fair bit different for wata's however.

best work ull get is if someone strips old paint with acid dipping, light sand blasting then powdercoating, all depends who you know how much your price range is.

a good wash with soap&brush, paint stripper, light sanding if needed, etch it, 2k prime it, then paint it.

its not hard, i do alot of wheels at work. there just orqured to work with.
HVLP touch up guns are the best for them. also try and get the paint on as thin as u can. less material and slightly higher pressure.

i restored my watanebes. just got "rippa stripper" (paint stripper) and took to them with a tooth brush, which got off almost all of the old paint and shit. then poilished the parts i wanted shiny (lip), then taped up everything i didnt want painted and hit it with a few coates of rattle can grey hammer finish, and a coat of clear. very easy and cheap
