only revving to 6k???

my silver top with adaptronic just got tuned. made 137hp@6000rpm at rear wheels but doesnt want to rev past 6k. tuner said rpm refence has no interference just that the engine breaks down once it hits 6k.

anyone have any ideas??

fuel supply ok? TPS gettin full reference? getting full throttle?

yeah fuel supply is ok. new vl pump. if that couldnt flow it wouldnt rev to 6k.
tuner said its getting good rpm signal which means dizzy is ok and he would have noticed tps reference if was bad. def getting full throttle.

im tending to lean towards a coil breaking down but havent seen the car yet. either that or the vvt switching is off. he only called me today so gotta pick it up.

I have yet to see a denso coil over plug fail. so i dont think its that.

It sounds like somethings restricted. Maybe have a good look at it when you get it back.

Might pay to check the rev limits in the ecu too heh

rev limit in the ecu was 8k.

i think i found the problem.on track last night it was coughing and farting and would die after getting sideways. cheecked the fuel and was full but there was heaps of rubber in the tank. it seems the rubber that the guy used to make the tank. was not fuel proof and perished into the tank

i emptied the tank and straight away i couldnt hear the pump. thought it was broken but it seems it must have been noisy from sucking air.

took it out again and was faarkin sweet. would sit on 8k no problem
