AE82 Headlights into 86

just been lookin on ebay an you can get AE82 headlights cheap. from memory the mounts are different, but the adjusters on my 86 lights are shot. Was wondering if anyone would be able to shed some light if i could gut the 82 headlights and retrofit them into 86 ones with adjusters etc??

yes from what I could tell the mounting brackets and the moulding of the backing was different. As for the internals I can't help you

It has been done before I'm sure, with zip ties or something.

From what I have read, the AE82 glass is the same as the AE86 glass, which can be swapped over.

yer was some tech read bout how some guy changed the inner part i think from an ae82 put in levin ae86 headlights cause it makes it look newer/cleaner etc.

yes u can glass and the reflactor bits can be changed and its does improve the light coming out coz we all know 86 have shit headlights

if it this part your after, go self serve wrecker with your sprinter one and have a look at 80's cars,
i found that a ford laser (either kb/kc i think) had the same adjustment screw/gears

yeah i have found them on other 80's cars but cant remember which, i swapped over one of mine with the 80's ford laser one

yeah head to a u-pull-it (aka u-steal-it) and just go looking at headlights
a whle back i was playing around with making a new ae86 headlight, and i was using ae82 headlight assembly for test runs,
i can remember compairing the adjusters to ae86 items from memory they are similar, but one works but the other is either too tall or too short?? hmm cant remember...
