changed for the BETTER in my opinion....
got the folded steel floor today, havent bothered to get it out of the work car thjough
looks great
then i can keep going with the rear end fab work.
i use a watts linkage in my stanza and works well. its from a falcon of some sort im pretty sure....
ex-SR20 Stanza and now MX83 Cressida Driver
John 1:12
thats where i was going to source some of the bits from, and then make the rest from scratch... i like making things.....
just read this from start to finish looking great its looking like a GT300 or GT500 car love the wheels love how much custom work that u put into ur cars bro will b great to see when its done will u be using the 1uz or something different
so, made a little more progress this afternoon. cut the, as you can see very rusty rear chassis/foor section out of the car. it was never going to live as it was, it had soooo much rust....
this left a rather large open hole in the back of the car...
but this was always the plan, as the diff hit the old floor anyway...
as i had this sweet looking ssheet floor folded ready to install....
and im really liking my new tig skills atm
so the next task is to make the coil over mounts and the watts link... stay tuned
You have no rear chasis left...??
Lookin at how far your taking this you really should make a new set of rails that go from the floor of the cabin joining onto your exsisting front rails and run the the hole way back to the rear bever....
Then you could fit a PROPER adjustable 4 link kit like the ones from McDonald Bros.
At least then you'll be able to get some decent rear end tuning...
I highly doubt that the factory suspension points are gunna be anywhere near where they need to be at the height you plan on running this car..
There's alot in setting up the rear of a car... Roll center. line of force.. instant centers..
Takes a bit to get it right..
But good luck...
Look forward to seeing this when it all finished..
sex josh...pure sex
yes yes yes, all noted, and yes, PROPER 4 link and adjustable watts link, all mounted and braced to the coil over mounts, which in turn will all be tied into the cage, patience people, it'll happen, just a long process to do in your spare time...
thanks simon, im trying to do everything this time, no shortcuyts...
.... Oh ok...
I would have started with the rails and suspension first...
Its a lot easier....
PLus you don't have sheet metal in your way, and you can get a good look at everything. makes gettin positioning of stuff a lot simpiler...
And save having to redo things later when you find stuff doesn't fit.
Or you forgot about some small incignificant part that has to go right where you've already placed other stuff... (thats soooo annoying LOL)
