KYB AGX are usually 4 way adjustable only. You should already know this from that dial. As for how they adjust, Ill have to leave that to someone with them.
greetings folks, how are we all? nice and full after christmas??
anyways i have a somewhat trivial question that im hoping is a nice easy answer.
basically i have acquired a pair of BRIDGESTONE NPG s13 coilovers. id never heard of them either, but apparnetly they are a jap only thing (got them from an importer) and they run KYB AGX inserts in them. they appear to be very good quality over all, and the best part is they are incredibly long so suit my application in the ke70.
anyway so i put them in all fine, and ive been driving around in circles playing with the adjustment of the damping.
now the thing is im not entirely sure how far im allowed to spin the little screw thing. does it spin forever in both directions?
it appears that you just push the thing in with a flat head screw driver and spin it untill it pops it self up at a certain number. it appears to spin quite a few times around before it pops it self up.
am i going about this the wrong way??
currently i have them both set on "1" (the little dot points to the number 1) and to be honest it doesnt feel THAT soft, its definately an improvement over my old JIC's. so im not sure how soft is soft. (btw im using what i think is 8kg springs on them, but ive felt "softer" setups with 8kg springs)
also stupid question, but 1 is softest and 4 is stiffest right?
heres a nice little dirty pic for reference, you can just see the little indentation pointing to the number 1.
just hoping that someone who has them (Which i know there are alot of you use AGX kyb) can just shed some light on how they work etc.
cheers

1 soft
4 stiffest
just spin it as much as you need to i wouldnt go spinning it round and round.
RT142 Estate.
AJPS.
even on setting number 1 - i attempted to compress my brand new ones and they are dam firm on the 1st setting, so i would assume 4 is rock solid
ah k cool, so looks like im on the right track.
ive had them in the car for a few days now, and they are very nice to drive with.
ive hit a few speed bumps and they are substantially softer than my JICs. i might get all enthusiastic and change them to setting #2!

hahah go hard or go home
fixed.
You can have any brew you want... as long as it's a Datsun / Corolla / What is that?
you can spin them as much as you like. little disc with four different sized holes and 4 detents. it doesnt hurt them and it doesnt change anything about the 4 settings.
^^Is that legal![]()
i found with my agx's the only thing the adjustment changed was the rebound of the shock. the actual compression was always the same but it would just rebound faster on the softer settings.
