    Default SR Wiring Problem

    Hey guys.

In the process of wiring my SR20 into the cressida.

    1. All is well, All my relays are good to go, Thermo etc work, have injector power. But, my fuel pump doesnt work. The relay is good (have checked by putting power to the trigger point on the relay). The trigger is hooked upto the Black Purple wire in the ECU which according to several diagrams is fuel relay. There is no power through this wire with the key in the ON position.

I could be missing something, is there another wire that i missed but used FAST EDDIES wiring diagram and everything else has work.

    2. How Much voltage should I be getting through my spark plugs? it is only reading between 0.01 and 0.02.

    3. What are the 2 Wires on the plug that go on the alternator for?

    Thanks for any help guys.

    Matt

    1. are you sure the 'fuel pump' trigger wire from the ecu is +positive? it could be an earth signal. (get a wiring diagram to check)

    2. not sure what ure asking here, i just check for power at the coilpacks, and continuity from the signal wires to the ecu. pull a coilpack out and stick a spark plug/screwdriver in there when your cranking, see if its sparking.

    3. one of these is the 'light' wire which goes to the 'battery' light on ure dash. the common toyota colour for this is yellow or yellow with a white tracer.
the other is 'battery sense' which basically the alternator uses as a voltage reference, just hook this up to ign power.

im no expert with sr's, but i hope some of this helps mate.

Re Alt - one supplies the the altinator with a voltage - like an exciter - and the other supplies power to your dash etc. one is in and the other is out.

The main relay fuse (80a) just blew while the motor was cranking? WTF.

you prob got a main power wire earthing on the car body or engine somewhere

either that or you wired your alternator wrong

spark plug leads will have somewhere between 50,000 and 80,000 volts.

srde's have dizzy right? should be something simple.

Ive have found, when i wired up my carina that when faced with a problem, its good to go sit down have a beer and a smoke while thinking it over. Usually works.

*edit* wait i think nissan dizzys are differnt. Ill have a beer and see if i can recall what it was.
