Thanks for the offer. All of my new Toyota parts have been ordered at Co-op Toyota in Hobart. It can be difficult I know, but I have done it. If you see me with any new parts here, it means that I (any maybe others before me) have ordered them and they are now on the Australian system (as in price and availability if you give them the part number). For rare JDM parts that no one has tried to order before, they won't even show up on the dealership computers... but it can still be ordered if you know how. You can bribe parts guys with beer, but I have found beer dosn't make them any smarter. I go into the dealership with part numbers, not hard questions. I have the EPC at home which helps, and I'm willing to commit to a purchase even if my number is "wrong".
looks great. im interested to see how you tackle the bypass pipe in the cooling system.
The problem is that toyota australia normally looks the other way when you say JDM, I gave them part numbers for everything and all was available except for the bypass pipe which i got from CABE toyota in florida but it was a USDM pipe so the heater pipe is slightly longer (bout 4cm) so I got my boss to order one from Japan.
good thread and neat build
ill be keeping a close eye on this
might go 20V instead of making a bigger motor fit lol
You've rekindled my love for nice clean simplicty. I like the rear water outlet bit. Maybe use an AE82 one. It's a LOT shorter and you wont have to cut the AE86 one
The AE82 one does not allow for the ICV but i dont think it will matter on a 20v or will it?
Yer, if you read up, he doesn't need it as it is for 20v
The AE82 heater/sensor block is a great idea. Anyone got a good one?
The start-time sensor will be replaced with the temp-gauge sensor, after I make a threaded addapter. The less holes and parts the better. Edit: AE86 temp-gauge sensor is the same threads as the start-time sensor, so just screws in.
Thanks for your interest. I am sitting on lots more parts and ideas. Parts are mostly Toyota ones, ideas are just cheap tricks to keep things neat, simple, reliable. Hopefully I can get some motivation to start assembling stuff.
