    Default t series diff weight

    yeh just need an approximate weight with tail shaft. been trawling the net and dont have scales big enough at home. thanks
    stroked 2L ca18-ae86 in the build...eta xmas 2012?

    I have a diff housing without mounts, 2 drums without pads, 2 axles laying around as well as a dud center, if you like I will weigh them up then you will just need to add them up and add a few kg for the missing mounts, and the shit inside the drums

    i can lift the whole diff assembly complete by myself so say 60 to 70 kg ? in total with shaft maybe an extra 5

    would most likely be less than this
    Owner built and tuned 9000rpm 402kw atw 3sGTE - AE86

    ok I got my scales out:

    housing - brackets, -axles, -brakes, inc center: 25.1kg
    axles: 5.6 x 2 = 11.2
    brake assembly ex drums: 2.5 x 2 = 5kg

    so all up 41.3kg then just add the drums and the brackets. If I manage to pull a drum out I will let you know.

    thanks for that sam, always a wealth of knowledge. it was so i could post it but i just guestimated and when i rocked up they threw it on the scales and with no oil, a complete t series diff with tail shaft is 76kg.
    stroked 2L ca18-ae86 in the build...eta xmas 2012?
